England have kept faith with their winning line-up from New Zealand and picked an unchanged side for the opening npower Test against the Kiwis at Lord’s.
Having named a 12-man squad for the start of the three-Test series, England decided to leave out recalled Yorkshire seamer Matthew Hoggard from their starting line-up.
It means they enter tomorrow’s game with an attack led by player of the year Ryan Sidebottom and backed up by Nottinghamshire seamer Stuart Broad and Lancashire’s James Anderson, with Monty Panesar providing the spin option.
Durham all-rounder Paul Collingwood has been passed fit following a third injection in his troublesome right shoulder.
“It is going to be the same team that won our last Test in Napier,” said captain Michael Vaughan. “Hopefully it will be a similar performance and a similar result.”
