New England captain Kevin Pietersen has moved up to second place in the England MVP thanks to his hundred in the fourth npower Test victory against South Africa at the Brit Oval.

Pietersen hit 100 in the first innings of the six-wicket win - his third century in five Tests - to reach 607 Test runs this summer.

In-form fast bowler James Anderson continues to lead the table after his five scalps at the Oval to take his Test tally for the year to 42.

Seamer Stuart Broad drops to third despite also picking up five wickets on his return to the England side.

Fellow paceman Ryan Sidebottom is fourth having been rested in the fourth Test due to a back problem.

Batsman Ian Bell lies in fifth after hitting only 28 runs in both innings at the Oval.
