England have sent left-arm paceman Ryan Sidebottom for a scan on his lower back.
The Nottinghamshire bowler reported discomfort on England’s arrival in Kanpur for Thursday’s third match in the one-day international series against India.
England will know the result of the scan tomorrow, when Sidebottom is expected to come into contention for a recall.
England lost the first two ODIs of the seven-match series in Rajkot and Indore, with India's Yuvraj Singh scoring back-to-back centuries.
He has not played an ODI since the NatWest Series against New Zealand last summer and is yet to feature in any match on tour as he attempts to recover from Achilles problems.
Sidebottom played three matches of that series, and was the second-highest England wicket-taker in the preceding ODI series in New Zealand last winter.
