The MCC Spirit of Cricket U13 National Club Championship 2008 has reached the Regional Finals stage – from a record entry this year of 1,799 clubs.
The first Regional Final takes place at Uppingham School on July 16, with the West Midlands event at Colwall CC on Sunday, July 20.
The other six Regional Finals are held the following week, by the end of which the identity of the eight clubs who will have qualified for the Finals Week at Oakham School will be known.
The Finals Week is from August 4-8.
With the last few county results to come in, the regional finals picture was as follows:
North East and Scotland
TBC (Cumbria), Washington (Durham), Wakefield Thornes (Yorkshire), South Northumberland (Northumberland) or Clydesdale (Scotland)
North West
Barton-under-Needwood (Derbyshire), Heaton (Lancs), Shrewsbury (Shropshire), Wolverhampton (Staffordshire).
North Midlands
Peterborough Town (Hunts), Messingham (Lincs), Notts Unity Casuals (Nottinghamshire), Old Northamptonians (Northants)
West Midlands
Colwall (Hereford), Pentyrch (Wales), Barnt Green (Worcs), Coalpit Heath (Gloucs) or Leamington (Warwicks)
Home Counties
Finchampstead (Berks), High Wycombe (Bucks), Aston Rowant (Oxford), Queens Park (Bedford) or North Middlesex
East
Cambridge St Giles (Cambs), Wanstead & Snaresbrook, TBC (Hertfordshire), Sheringham (Norfolk) or Mildenhall (Suffolk)
South West
Cheddar (Somerset), Hatherleigh (Devon), Broadstone (Dorset), Penzance (Cornwall)
South and South East
Blackheath (Kent), Hastings & St Leonard’s Priory (Sussex), Wimbledon (Surrey), Ventnor (IOW) or Yateley (Hampshire)
