Mo Sheikh has starred with both bat and ball for Staffs

Staffordshire handed four players their county caps during the final match of the season against Cambridgeshire in the Minor Counties Championship.

Opening batsman Peter Wilshaw, spinner Gareth Morris, paceman Greg Willott and all-rounder Mo Sheikh received the caps in recognition of their efforts for the county.

Twenty-one-year-old Wilshaw reached 450 championship runs for the season during the game and in his 24 matches has amassed 1,311 runs.

Morris finished the season as the county's leading wicket-taker in the championship with 26 victims, taking his overall tally to 67 in 20 appearances.

Willott made his debut in 1999 and has now established himself as a regular in the side with 17 wickets this term to take his overall total to 54 in 18 matches.

Professional Mo Sheikh's contribution to the season in his five outings is 25 wickets and 342 runs.

In his 11 matches since joining the county he has taken 46 wickets and scored 644 runs.
