Sussex have one hand on the LV ECB Women's County Championship title after extending their perfect record with wins over Berkshire and Nottinghamshire.

The South Coast side have won all their five games this season, the latest two coming in successive days on Tuesday and Wednesday, and providing they avoid defeat to nearest rivals and current champions Kent on Thursday will lift the trophy for the first time since 2005.

Sussex coasted to a ten-wicket win over Berkshire after rolling over their opponents for just 94.

England all-rounder Laura Marsh was the pick of the attack with 4-16 from nine overs while Holly Colvin, with 2-10 from her allocation of ten overs, was equally impressive.

Sussex's reply was swift - they knocked off the required runs in just 15.3 overs with Sarah Taylor hammering 65 from just 57 balls.

Captain Alexia Walker ensured back-to-back wins with a fine bowling performance against Nottinghamshire 24 hours later. She took 4-24 from ten overs as Sussex won by 35 runs to move a step closer to retaining the title.

Kent are ready to capitalise should they slip up however, winning against Nottinghamshire and Berkshire to ensure the championship goes down to the last day.

Charlotte Anneveld was the star of the two victories, shining with bat and ball.

In the six-wicket victory over Nottingham she finished with figures of 2-16 from ten overs before hitting an undefeated 49 to see her side home. She then took 4-18 a day later in Kent's narrow one-wicket win over Berkshire.
