500 up for NatWest CricketForce 2009

Posted in NatWest CricketForce 2009

Well would you believe it? It’s only the middle of September and we have just reached the magical milestone of 500 clubs registered for NatWest CricketForce 2009.

Bearing in mind that this time last year we had less than 50 signed up, this is massive progress.

Our plan now is to keep working hard and keep promoting the benefits of NatWest CricketForce to hopefully beat last year’s total of 1375 and maybe get past the 1500 mark!

You can help us out with this; make sure that whenever you talk to clubs in your area you tell them about NatWest CricketForce and all the great things it can do for the club and the members.

More great news from us is that the NatWest CricketForce Go Green Club Fund is really starting to kick on and we have now awarded over £85,000 to clubs all doing different green projects.

It’s great that cricket clubs up and down England and Wales are looking to be more environmentally friendly and to save energy; and don’t forget that saving energy means saving money too!

If you’re interested in applying for this fund then please go to www.ecb.co.uk/natwestcricketforce and find out more.

On a final note, next week is when we make our way to Leamington Spa to visit Wolseley’s brand new Sustainable Building Center. We’ve had a great response from cricket clubs who are interested in finding out more about ways to incorporate environmentally friendly ideas in to new builds, renovations and general ground improvements.

We hope to be able to feed back the information that we learn on this trip to all NatWest CricketForce registered clubs in the hope that it will help you out. Another promising thing about our visit to the Sustainable Building Center is the interest of some of the First Class Counties; everybody in cricket has to consider the effects of the environment on their future so it’s great that those that are in a position to set a good example are getting involved.

Don’t forget that only the first 1000 registered clubs will get free T-shirts so make sure you sign up quickly to ensure you don’t miss out!
